power and efficiency are calculated, all other
data measured
What this data indicates:
This data shows that with
identical gearing, the Brand X motor needs
6W more power than the Medusa Research
motor to produce 8oz of thrust. In other words,
the Brand X motor is 13.6% less efficient
when producing 8oz of thrust.
What
this means:
For this example, the
gear ratios were adjusted to keep equal thrust
with the same motor voltage. If you used a
1200mAHr pack supplying 7.2V under load, the
Medusa Research motor would run for 4+
minutes longer than the Brand X motor
when both are geared for 8oz of thrust.
