Medusa Research's Battery Eliminator Circuits eliminate
the need for a separate battery pack to run the
receiver and servos by stepping down the voltage
of the main battery. Smaller, secondary battery
packs are a nuisance to maintain and charge, take
up valuable space, and add weight to your model.
Removing them through the use of a BEC frees up
the space and weight, and reduces the number of
failure-prone parts. The lack of low battery detection
on secondary battery packs can result in receiver
and servo failure without warning. Medusa Research
BECs provide a solution to this problem by tying
your receiver and servos into your primary battery.
The 3.5 Amp BEC is specifically designed for larger
models, and can handle input voltages up to 45 volts!
The 3.5 Amp BEC is very light, weighing only 13
grams while a typical receiver and servo battery
pack weighs approximately 90. The 3.5 Amp BEC is
also very small at 30x50mm, but it requires a minimum
input voltage of 8 volts so it is well suited for
higher cell count battery packs. Medusa Research
BECs save space in your model, can boost performance
by improving your thrust to weight ratio, and are
a cost effective alternative to secondary battery
packs.
