Medusa Research's Battery Eliminator Circuits eliminate
the need for a separate battery pack to run the
receiver and servos by stepping down the voltage
of the main battery. Smaller, secondary battery
packs are a nuisance to maintain and charge, take
up valuable space, and add weight to your model.
Removing them through the use of a BEC frees up
the space and weight, and reduces the number of
failure-prone parts. The 2 Amp BEC is specifically
designed for smaller models. It is only 20x22mm,
less than one square inch in size! A typical receiver
and servo battery pack weighs approximately 90 grams,
while the 2 Amp BEC only weighs 10! A battery eliminator
circuit of this size is an industry first. Medusa
Research BECs save space in your model, can boost
performance by improving your thrust-to-weight ratio,
and are a cost effective alternative to secondary
battery packs. While the standard 5 Volts is perfect
for most applications, the 2 Amp BEC is available
in 6 Volts for faster servo throws. The 2 Amp BEC
is also available in 9 Volts for use with mini-cameras
and other 9V accessories and should not be used
to power standard 5V equipment.
